Ultra-Low Overnight is 3.9¢/kWh from 11pm to 7am, every day - and 39.1¢/kWh on weekday 4–9pm peak. That is about 10× more for the same kilowatt-hours if you miss the window.

Regulated Price Plan rates effective 1 Nov 2025 to 31 Oct 2026. You have to opt into ULO with your local utility - it is not the default Time-of-Use plan. Delivery charges still apply on the bill; these cents are the energy line only.
An 8-hour Level 2 session
A typical 7.2 kW wallbox running for 8 hours uses 57.6 kWh. At 3.9¢ that is $2.25. The same energy at the weekday peak rate is $22.52. That is the whole argument for a timer or vehicle scheduled charge aimed at 11pm.
A Level 2 install in Ontario runs $1,000–$3,500 for most homes, and legally requires an ESA permit plus a Licensed Electrical Contractor.
Overnight vs public charging vs gas
