Hyundai and Kia EV maintenance in Canada

Hyundai Canada's owners maintenance page says regular service is based on time or mileage, whichever occurs first, and tells you to use the owner's manual for the complete list. Enter the VIN on that page (or download the manual for your year) rather than copying a forum screenshot.

Kia uses the same idea: download the manual for your EV6, EV9, Niro EV, or EV3 and follow that table. Sister-platform cars (Ioniq 5 / EV6) are close, not identical.

The 2022 IONIQ 5 maintenance chapter is typical of Hyundai EVs: lots of inspections, a cabin (climate control) air filter replaced on the published schedule, and tire rotation called out as part of brake/tire service. Monthly owner checks include tire pressures (including a spare if fitted), lights, and coolant level in the reservoir.

• Tires. Rotate on the manual's interval, and sooner if inner/outer wear looks uneven. Instant torque plus battery weight is hard on a cheap all-season.
• Cabin filter. Hyundai says replace per the Maintenance Schedule, and sooner in dusty or polluted air. On the Ioniq 5 it is an owner-accessible frunk job in the official procedure.
• Brakes. Regen means pads last a long time - and can corrode on salted Canadian roads if you never use the pedal. Ask for a caliper/slide inspection at tire swap time. See the generic EV maintenance article.
• 12V battery and coolant. Still inspected on the calendar. Do not open sealed high-voltage coolant systems as a DIY experiment.

Tesla publishes a short consumables list (tires every 10,000 km, cabin filter every 2 years, caliper clean on salted roads) and says service the car as needed.
